On my way home

I love the Hudson River Valley so drove home that way via Germantown to visit the general store (very cool).  The first picture was taken while I was driving so obviously it's blurry but you can still see the beauty of the HRV.  I love taking photos in upstate New York (well, in all of New York for that matter) and I'm a sucker for a red barn (and typos).

Christmas walk with the Ures

I visited the Jersey Ures and went to their town Christmas walk with them.  The girls had so much fun seeing Santa Claus, making sand art and getting some free things.  And I had fun being with those six cute little girls!

Thanksgiving dinner in Jersey

I enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving dinner Friday night with the Jersey Ures.

Fishs Eddy

Fishs Eddy is a really cool store if you like dishes and fun kitchen items.  I'd heard about the store for a long time and this was only my second time going.  I bought this mason jar.  The last time I went I bought this airline ticket tray [New York to Boca Raton] for my sister-in-law (who lives in Boca Raton -- the perfect gift!).

Cool New York-y store

My friend Aimee told me about Tinsel Trading and I found it on the Upper East Side.  It was a really small store filled with really cool things.  I have been collecting Christmas trees so I bought one of those green wooden ones (made out of an old spool).  I didn't stay in the store very long; it was very tempting!

Do you see what I see?

THE pahk

I enjoyed walking through Central Park to get from the UWS to the UES.

9/11 Memorial

I'm glad I took the time to visit the 9/11 Memorial.  I look forward to visiting the Museum when it opens.  I bought this book and look forward to reading the stories.

Cute little Brits on the subway

These girls were so adorable.  The back two are sisters and the front two are sisters and they aren't related.  They were enjoying their ride on the subway.

I like street/subway photography.

NYPD - how many?

Guess how many NYPD cops there are?  My friend asked one of them at the Macy's Parade…he said 33,000!  I was shocked.  [If you google it, they say 34,500.]

Top of the Rock

This was my first time to the Top of the Rock.  I've been to the top of the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and World Trade Center so it was fun to finally go to Top of the Rock.  It was worth the $27!  I loved the views of New York City and couldn't stop taking photos with my big camera and iPhone.  Between buying my ticket and the time of my tour, I had Thanksgiving dinner (an Annie's pretzel and Coke).
